Caroline Chirowodza, professionally known as Caychi, is a Zimbabwean singer, songwriter, actress and radio personality whose creative journey spans music, performance and storytelling.
She developed a passion for the arts from a young age — modelling from Grade Six, taking part in several pageants, then moving into acting before going deeper into music. Her music career developed seriously around 2016 while she was in South Africa, and she later returned to Zimbabwe to build her career at home and connect with Zimbabwean audiences.
Songwriting remains central to her artistry: she writes her own material, blending Afro-fusion, Afrobeat and local Zimbabwean rhythms with personal narrative.
Supported by her dynamic Afro Jive band, she brings traditional African rhythms and contemporary pop together in uplifting, danceable performances. She holds practical and theory music training from Music Crossroads Academy and is a member of the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe.
