Caychi (Caroline Chirowodza) is a Harare-born Afro-Fusion musician, live performer, composer, actress and brand ambassador, supported by her dynamic Afro Jive band.

Official Biography

Caychi's creative journey spans music, performance and storytelling. She began modelling in Grade Six, moved into acting, and developed her music career seriously around 2016 while based in South Africa before returning home to Zimbabwe. She has performed with the Afro Jive Band, wrote and performed the Great Zimbabwe International Festival theme song, and has been described as a protégé of the late Oliver "Tuku" Mtukudzi. In 2025 she returned to music with Wafuratira and Kunze Kwashata Uko, becoming the film's lead actress and soundtrack performer. Her wider work includes ambassador roles with the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Wildlife, and Nyaradzo.
